Default 2012 Chevy Cruze LTZ

I bought my used Chevy Cruze in 2016 from a local used car dealer. I added a 2-year extended warranty from this dealer since most of the manufacturer warranties had or will soon expire. I only had one issue during the first two years. Bad thermostat. It was covered under the warranty so I only had to pay $100 to get it fixed. Since then, I have had to put in over $4,000 in total repairs to the car, including another thermostat change. Now tonight, I'm driving home from work and once again the car starts to act like it did the previous two times the thermostat was bad. For about a month leading up to today, a fan, not sure which one was constantly coming on and going off, it was extremely loud. That is what happened before as well. I researched on here the problems I had tonight and all points lead to another bad thermostat. In what car should I have to replace a thermostat three times in 3 1/2 years. It is unacceptable. I'm thinking of just buying a new car. It wont be a Chevy however. This is ridiculous.

I used to have a 2011 Cruze LTZ and never had to replace the thermostat. There is a possibility that there is a problem with the brand of thermostat the shop is putting in your car. I saw in a video that said that Dorman makes a thermostat for that car that is reinforced and lasts longer than the GM thermostat. Before giving up on the car, I would try the Dorman thermostat.

Default Call gm motors!

The same thing is happening with my 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ. Make sure you call gm and make a complaint about this! A month and a half ago, i just had my water pump, water outlet and thermostat changed in my coolant. I am currently at a Chevy dealership getting my reservoir replaced bc that is leaking now. It’s def not an cheap fix, and Chevy will only pay for the pump. This is a common thing to happen in Chevys, and it def needs looked into. It seems to happen a lot more right after the warranty is up, almost like a set up. Gm had told me the more people who call about this, the better the chance they will do a recall.
