I have a 2016 cruze 1.8L that will not turn off. We can turn the ignition into the off position and remove the key but the car will still run. Any idea what could be causing this?

 

Not off hand. Could be a bad ignition switch. The Cruze is built in Mexico, so Q-C is not as good as Fairfax, Kansas, where my 2015 Chevy Malibu was built by union workers who are strike at this time..

 

What did you find out was wrong with your car when it did this? Same thing happened to my daughter's Cruze last night? She had to change the battery in her fob. Plus her car says no fob detected. but I'm hoping it just needs to be reprogrammed.

 

I had that happen many years ago in a Trailblazer. Turned out a relay in the fuse box overheated and shorted out the fuse box.

 

We never figured out what it was. We ended up using the spare key to see if the key was the problem and it never happened again. We have since used both keys and still havent had the problem. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.
