Default 2012 Cruze p0599 reading

So been having problems. Replaced the thermostat and housing unit (or whatever it's called) and then blew a hose, so now it overheats all the time and just found out it has a p0599 reading and the fan has a serious delay to it. I am so over putting money into this car! I had someone tell me it was a sensor, it that all??? Please say yes! Please. Lol

P0599 means the electronically controlled thermostat has something amiss in the unit or perhaps the wires. I have no idea why the thermostat has to be controlled by the ECM but that's how it goes these days. Its no wonder people are holding on to older vehicles these days. Yeah, it could easily be a sensor, which we didn't need in the past.

1940's-1990's thermostat: Take out 2 bolts, pull thermostat cover off, clean any remains of gasket off, put new thermostat in the engine, install gasket, and tighten down bolts down. Oh well, I'm an OG so what the heck do I know? Keeping my old Chevrolet 1998 K-1500 till the body and frame rust out. If they ever do, because there is no rust AND even better NO SMOG PUMP!!.

Lots of this bull-stuff, in fairness to GM, is not their fault. Its more about fuel-economy and emissions standards, imposed by the government(s). A new Corvette with NO stick-shift? No one would have believed that only 10 years ago!!
