2014 Chevy Cruze – “Oil Pressure Low - Stop Engine” Warning Only at Idle (Sensor Alre
I’m experiencing an issue with my 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.4L where the dash displays a “Oil Pressure Low - Stop Engine” warning, but only while the engine is idling. The moment I apply throttle and raise the RPMs, the warning disappears.
To diagnose the problem, I manually tested the oil pressure. The readings confirmed the same behavior: low oil pressure at idle, but normal pressure once RPMs increase—consistent with factory specs for this vehicle.
To rule out a faulty sensor, I’ve already replaced the oil pressure sensor with a brand new one, but the issue persists.
Has anyone encountered this before? What should I be looking at next—possibly a worn oil pump, clogged pickup screen, worn bearings, or something else?
Appreciate any help or guidance.
