Default Cooling fan running at high RPM, engine not even up to temp

2012 Cruze LTZ RS 1.4L Turbo. Cooling fan running at very high RPM, seems to cycle every 30 seconds or so down to normal RPM. Engine is not up to normal operating temp when fan kicks on. I believe it may be the coolant temp sensor. Thoughts? Also, if it IS the sensor, how do I locate it? There is nothing in these forums or online that tells where the sensor is located.

Default Same issue!!

Exact same issue. Check engine light on at 33,000 miles, check code coolant temperature sensor.....replaced it, check engine light is off. Great! NOT! Fan runs on jet speed almost constantly now, so annoying. And it does it when my a/c is off. I bought this car thinking oh dependable and not many issues since it has low miles. I would love to know how Chevy plans on fixing this?!?! After reading several forums all over the internet this is an extremely common problem but for some reason they can’t pin it down to one thing.
