Default Need help with my chevy Cruze

Hi
My car (cruze 2011) 37000km, before 2 days when i stope the car unable to move forwoard when i select D or toptronic transmission, but it move back when i select R.
im try more and more to move it forward at d but no way

what is the problem?

most people would say transmission, but usually reverse goes out first, so it makes me hesitate.
1. Check transmission fluid (I know it sounds silly). When your engine is up to temp and in neutral, make sure the fluid is topped off.
2. Check linkage, this seems like the most likely culprit to me.

First thank you for reply< please tell me how i can check the transmission fluid??? and what the linkage should i check please...



Also i want tell you
last night i keep my leg on fuel and when RPM at 2 i keep it at 2 the RPM down sudden to 1, I did this many time at third time the car start move at D but there is no Power and also Toptrinc Gear disappear only D

any Idea Please.

haha.




I just realized they didn't put a transmission fluid dipstick on a Cruze.
There is a threaded plug on your transmission. it is located deep on the right side of your engine block where your transmission is located. just reach between the engine and battery past all the hoses. remove the cap and dip your finger in to check the fluid.
According to the user manual it doesn't need to be changed for 45,000 miles. and 37000km is only 22000 miles
If when you move the car from reverse to park and you here a loud noise, it is a sign your "Gear shift selector" is bad.
This is why I only drive manual transmissions, these issues are much easier to troubleshoot.

I find it hard to accept the possibility that your transmission could already be going bad, but I must ask, are you launching at red lights, because this destroys transmissions very fast, I have seen them go bad as early as 3000 miles just because someone was launching at red lights. usually the first and second gears are the first to go.

I did, i remove the cap and put my finger in my finger didnt touch any thibg there are no fluid touched my finger
I add 2 liter if fluid but also no fluid touch my finger
So it ok if i add more fluid or it will be harmful if it overfilled

the total capacity is 5.8 quarts that is about 5.4L I am surprised your transmission fluid is so low. worried you might have a leak somewhere.

make sure you are checking your fluid when it is up to temp, and allow the transmission to flow, by engaging your e-brake/parking break and moving the shifter through your options, R, D, L, and use your taptonic too. this will help the fluid circulate. if not checked at temp, you will receive inaccurate readings on trans fluid level

Your car has a sealed transmission.
The correct process to top of transmission fluid:
Start your car, underneath the transmission is a plug by the CV axle. pull out the plug with a wrench. if fluid starts running out, your transmission IS full. if nothing runs out, unscrew the cap you removed before (with the gear symbol on it). fill until fluid runs out the hole that was filled by the plug. reinsert the plug. reinsert the cap. DONE

This is easier with two people
