I wrote a post this past week about my concern over aftermarket CV axle assembly compatibility for my 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel driver side CV Axle. After doing some extra hours of online research, I found that the GM OEM part number for 23184151 previously used the part number 13369666. I am writing again to find out if there were any changes in design to the part or if there technical or failure problems with the older part number. I am asking because I found one of the aftermarket parts uses the 13369666 part number as the one that their part matches OEM standards. Don't want to order a part if the change by GM was due to a problem or that it cause transmission problems. Going to be ordering this part before the week is out. The difference is price is well over $100

there was a recall for the oem cv axles for the cruze. it involves axle shaft fracturesfor the right side. the left side may have been updated also but not recalled as no incidents were recorded.
13276 — Front Axle Right Half Shaft Fracture
Models: 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze
Equipped with 1.4L Turbo Engine (LUV) and Manual Transmission (MF3/MR5)

 

Thanks for the information. I was able to buy an aftermarket CV axle shaft for less than a 100 bucks. It fit like a glove and everything bolted back up without issue.
