Default Outside temp issue.

Hi there. I wonder if anybody here can help me out I have a chevrolet cruze 1.7 diesel LT VCDI 62 plate estate. When I got the car there was no outside temperature displaying. But the other day it came on -40 it's done this a few months ago. Stays on for bout a day . I've looked for the temp sensor but can't find it. Can anybody point me in the right direction. Ie to change replace it.

Has your car had the front bumper cover removed lately? I had the same problem with my 14' Impala after I had the front facia refinished and the body shop didn't plug in the temp sensor behind the facia. Not certain since your car is a Cruze, but i'd be willing to bet the sensor is behind your front facia as well. Biggest issue was it was 90 degree out and with the system thinking it was -40 the car wouldn't allow us to use the A/C. Good luck!
