Stepmom lost her one and only key and no possibility to order in the Netherlands
Dear Chevy enthousiasts,
As the titles says..
My Stepmom lost her key from her 2011 Chevrolet Cruze 1.8 LT.
We live in the Netherlands.
Ofcourse it would've been great if she'd had a reserve key. But okay, that option we don't have.
So we started calling the official Chevrolet Europe, they didn't pickup and we are still waiting on that pending call-back request since yesterday morning.
We've contacted official retailers and they have stated that this key is not available for order anymore. So the bad news they state is that we have to buy new cilinders for all the locks.
Which ofcourse will set us back a lot of money..
It isn't an imported car, but I guess they are also sold in the u.s?
Maybe we can import it from there? Where would I start there?
Or maybe some other readers from closer by have another idea?
My first thought was perhaps to order a new cilinder with key for the ignition, let that be read in by computer. So that she can start the car and open the doors at least with the remote, would that be possible?
Hoping on the community.. she's stranded now
Kind greetings
