Won't shift into 3, 4, 5 or 6th gear

Won't shift into 3, 4, 5 or 6th gear
With my Chevy Cruz 2012 manual transmission...
For the past few months my 3rd and 4th gears have been grinding a little before going into gear.
It got worse until today when I cant get into any gear past 2nd.
When i try, the gears are grinding and not engaging but the shifter is fully forward. When I push forward harder, that's when I hear the gears grinding.
Also i noticed the swing arm (counter wieght looking thing) on the shift linkage rod is hitting against something at the end of its extension in 4th gear, like it being pushed too far.
Can you help figure this out?
