Belt revision ‘79 suburban
Hello everybody, my name is Rick and own a ‘79 suburban with 454 bigblock v8. I bought it 3 years ago. Also I’m pretty new to the American classic world and am living in the Netherlands. So it s not like I grew up with these kind of cars and repairs don’t fall under ‘common knowledge’ so I’m looking for a place for some n00b questions.
(also, I hope this is under correct forum subjects)
Here’s the first: when I start the sub I hear the v-belt squeeking when I rev it a few times. While driving i hear nothing. But, i was thinking it might not be a bad idea to change the v-belt since the truck has 110.000 Miles on it and i don’t think it’s ever been changed.
now, I have to order this stuff from the States since I cant find it here. But i also read that the power steering steering and waterpump also use Belts? If this is true it might be wise to change all of them (and also order them together from the usa and save on shipping)
is there someone who can tell me what belts I need, and if I need more than just a v-belt to do an engine belt revision?

ow this does really help. So if I want to do this right I need one for the AC, powersteering, alternator and the power brake booster. So 4 in total?
Also, the truck isn't at my house, it's at a storage spot a few miles from my home. So, maybe I figured wrong, but I reckoned I'd better order a few on a gamble than order piece by piece - taking the shipping costs in account and all. So if I don't need all of them, i'll have a few spares that I can throw in the toolbox when I go on a trip (or at least that's what I thought)
So when the weather turns, and I get her out on my driveway for a scrub and a checkup, I hope to have the belts in and I can check and also change at the same time if needed. Or, if it turns out to be the wrong part, get back to google for the correct parts and try again on another sunny day...
