I’m in need of a used replacement engine for my 2008 5.3 Silverado. Can anyone recommend used chevrolet engines for sale what I need to look for and to avoid? And what other vehicles engine would be a direct swap?

 

When I replaced my 5.3, I found that motors from Sierra 1500s, Tahoe, Suburban, even Express vans can be drop-in with minor harness tweaks. Definitely avoid high-mileage AFM engines unless they've been rebuilt. I grabbed an affordable used 5.7 TBI engine for sale at Blue Prism Automotive for a buddy's C10 and they were legit—worth checking if they have a 5.3 in stock too.
