Default Equinox 05 thermometer problems

My chevy equinox 05, when the vehicle is stopped the thermometer goes up high then goes back down when I start moving again. I got a new radiator hopefully to fix the problem but it is back again. May I just be low on coolant?

Sounds more like air pockets in the coolant or possibly a sticking thermostat.

Can it be costly?

Not really, you already changed the radiator. Thermostat is fairly cheap. If it is the water pump then it gets up there if you can't do it yourself.

Thank you! I think you are right it has to be the water pump because it is leaking.
