06 heat blowing Luke warm
Had a check engine po128 code come up. Thermostat gasket was all chewed up. Replaced thermostat and sensor with acdelco parts.
06 equinox replaced the thermostat and engine coolant sensor. Refilled system and burped the lower and upper radiator hose. When turning heat on gauge goes just over half way. I have thermometer in vehicle and still shows it’s blowing at. 65 degrees. Should I change the radiator cap.
Let car sit for bout 15 min and cut it off and the radiator fans ran for another 10. Is this normal?
thanks,

So at idle temp gauge is half way and thermometer on main vent on console is reading 110 I did have a lot of air in bleeder plug bubbles that came out.switched back to ac and it got cool real fast. Cut back to heat and where we are now. Any suggestions or do we think I did everything correct??
both radiator hoses are hot as well. The bottom Hose to the heater core is hot. The top hose to heater core is not hot .

I have defrost so not thinking my heater core is bad? Should I presume this is correct? Gonna drive it this afternoon when I get home. Any thing else that could be wrong that I may have overlooked or I didn’t mention. Thanks
There have also been some videos posted on YouTube within the past few years that pertain to replacing the heater core on models of this vintage. Coincidentally, the GM dealership I work at also just had a job approved to have the heater core replaced in a 2008 Equinox. The customer's complaint was lack of heat. After checking it over, the tech determined the heater core was plugged.
