Hello there, I'm new to this group. I have a 08 Equinox Sport 3.6, that is in need of a new transmission in the upcoming months. I wanted to see what the difference is between the old years and newer years of the 6T70 and their compatability with the LY7 3.6 engines. I know that there's a difference in the valve body and computer, but I'm not sure if newer year 6T70s from 2010-2017 have any significant differences beyond that.

Ideally I'd love to just snag a newer year FWD one up from a junkyard, but that all depends on if they're plug and play enough. If not I'll have to snag one from another 08-09 Theta or Epsilon platform that's compatible or pay for a remanufactured one...

 

The OEM part number for the FWD transmission is 19332859 and is only used in the 2008 Equinox Sport and Torrent GXP according to GM's EPC. Transmissions from other models might physically fit, but the gear ratios may be different.
