We now have seven months and 6K+ miles on our 2010 LT2 four cyl FWD. We just completed a 1600 mile trip over seven days and had no issues with 4-cyl perfomance such as keeping up with traffic and passing where necessary. The mileage averaged 30.2 MPG for the trip; it could have been better using slightly less throttle.
We are just pleased as puch with this vehicle. A 1998 Trailblazer was the trade.

Wow jimster..that the best average gas mileage I've seen for the Nox so far! I haven't been able to get better than 28.7, but I'm more than happy with that considering my driving habits. I also don't have a problem with power since I've owned 4cyl's in the past and know that the power band is in the higher revs....and the Ecotec engine was made for revving. People coming from larger V6's or V8's have to adjust their driving style, but once they get used to it they'll find that they really didn't give up much useable real world acceleration. I don't think anyone buys this type of vehicle for drag racing anyway.

2010 equinox, best yet
I have a 2010 Equinox with just over 5,000 miles on it, purchased the end of April 2010. Am constantly getting over 30mpg with 32.8 on a recent trip. Am very satisfied with the vehicle, having been a Chevrolet Retiree. Worked at GM Power Train Motor Plant in Tonawanda for 38.6 years. Retired in 93. Am happy that GM is finally getting it right with the new cars, we have had few that weren't up the the new Equinox in qualty.
I have done a few modifications to my Equinox LT1 such as installing a trailer hitch, installing the fog lights (original equipment on LTZ) also installed side door guards(custom matched) front and rear mud guards and installing a grille overlay that rounds off the look.
I love my Equinox!

month old beauty
Bought a 2010 Equinox LT with 2LT, Chrome, Power liftgate and 18-inch wheels. Have the 2.5 liter and AWD. I LOVE this car. It's gorgeous, comfortable and is a dream to drive. Gas mileage in the city (really slow bumper to bumper) is not great but two recent day trips on the highway got 29 mpg. Not bad with the AC running full blast. And only 1200 miles so far. As the engine breaks in I expect to see that improve.

There is a Recall on the 2010 Equinox Engines.
They are garbage, and burn oil.
Mine RAN OUT of oil on a highway trip in 2017, and MY Equinox gauges didn't show Anything like low on Oil.
Take your VIN to a Chevrolet Dealer, and book it in.
It costs Nothing.
My Equinox had $2800+ of work for this recall, and I paid nothing.
Recall is good for 10 years.
