Hybrids anyone have one yet?
I wanted the Hybrid when I got my 07 but they werent available yet and I was in a pinch for a new vehicle.
Went by my po-dunk dealership but they didn't have any on the lot and no one ran up to me asking if I needed assitance...and I would love to drive/have one.
Anyone have one... hate it..love it.. ?

Its an interesting engineering excersize, but I'm not going to pick one up either...
as for lazy dealers, I stopped by to check out the 09 tahoe (because I want an 09 w/the 6spd, Blue Tooth, 110AC, etc) guy was NOT even remotely intrested in selling me a car... I don't get it... you would think that at a car dealer they would want to sell CARS... but I guess not this guy.... lol
you just don't get the service you used to....

RE: Hybrids anyone have one yet?
I picked a new 2008 Hybrid, 120 miles, black on black, with Nav (of course), sunroof, and DVD for $39,900.
With the $2200 rebate, I paid $37,700!
It is amazing and so quiet when in battery mode.
I love it.
My average after 1 week is 20.5mpg.
The only thing I am worried about is there is no spare tire with the hybrid!

RE: Hybrids anyone have one yet?
Sweet deal! keep us updated on it.
Is it the 4.8 or 5.3 V8?
Is it easy to keep it in elec mode or does it switch pretty quickly?
How about the AC will the AC work in full elec mode?
No spare tire..hummm in all my 20 something years of driving I have only had to use a spare tire once...
I understand the Hybrids come with the Navi as its intergrated to the electrical system monitor?
Thanks for responding

In almost 50 years of driving, I have only had to use a spare once and that was in a friend's van that had a new set of Generals on it. Looked like the tire self-destructed. Sooner or later you'll get Generals. Not!
Now I have plugged quite a few tires due to nails, screws, other debris but those were slow leaks and caught them in time.

the Hybrid uses a 6.0L, and the sat nav is standard... thats a good price for that model! 4x4? it doesn't have low right?
a lot of city or mostly highway?

RE: Hybrids anyone have one yet?
It is not 4x4.
Nav is standard on all hybrids.
It drives REALLY well and switching from battery to gas is flawless. Very cool how it works.
That said, I really only use the battery mode in traffic or in parking lots...you have to drive very slow or the engine takes over.
You will feel and look like a grandma driver if you use battery mode when taking off from lights, etc.
Still averaging around 20mpg and I do both city and highway...probably 60 / 40 with mainly highway.
