Next time it goes no start, have a helper hold key in start position while you tap on starter. If it starts time for a new one. This works better than tapping 1st, turning key 2nd.

 

Thanks for that advice. I read that somewhere else online too and I did try that a few times. I tapped on it while my wife was turning the key and it would not start. I drove it to work today and it started every time.

 

Batteries get intermittent internal connector failures. I've had 3 batteries do it in 2 different vehicles the last 12 yrs. . Next time it happens smack or vibrate the battery, if you don't have a meter to check it with you, and see if it starts. I had to fight to get battery's replaced in warranty as they will load check OK after being carried into store.
