Default 2014 Equinox crank, no start

My sister was driving and it “just stopped”
first thing i checked was oil, I added 3.5 qts to get it on the dipstick...

it cranks but does not start or even try to. Air filter is clean. I’m getting ready to pull the plugs to test spark and check fuel pressure on the rail. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Can I make sure of your post? You added 3.5 quarts of oil to get it to show on the dipstick?

Sadly, yes, I know that is pretty much an oil change in itself.
