Default Adding horsepower

I have a 2011 Chevy Equinox with the 2.4L engine. I am wondering what would be the most cost efficient way to add horsepower? I wanted to get some ideas because I was considering upgrading the intake, headers, and the exhaust but wanted to get some insight before I do it.

If you don't live in a state with strict emissions (like California), you can install the K&N Performance Intake Kit (p/n 77-3071KS). Magnaflow also offers a performance exhaust (p/n 15110). Aside from getting a performance tune, that's really all there is out there for the Equinox/Terrain 2.4L.
