battery brands suggestions
I got the Ever Start and installed it today. Everything is fine except the engine check check light is on. Is this normal? I drove the car for a day with that connector on the back side of the battery disconnected. When I got the connector apart I left in disconnected because I had a some trouble getting it apart and didn't want to go througe disconnecting it again. The connector was connected when new battery was installed.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm, but give it time. After a battery disconnect, the ECM will need several miles and/or hours to work through its monitoring criteria for codes. Depending on driving habits, some components may not get to the testing stage from the PCM for 100 miles while others may get tested every 10 miles.
Some of the cheaper, OTC handheld scanners will read-out the emissions readiness status (even in a non-emissions state) of the ECM. If all the monitors are green or have a check mark on them, they’ve completed the monitoring cycle, which is a good indicator that there’s no CEL in the near future.
