Default Brake ideas

I also have a 2007 and here is my experience from last spring:
Front rotors were getting hot - I measured with an IR gun 300F on right, 400F on left.
I replaced front rotors and calipers and bleed the system (new brake fluid). Was fairly easy and inexpensive using Rock Auto parts.
Front left was good, but front right was still sticking/heating up. Replaced the rubber brake line between caliper and frame (about $8 from NAPA) and all has been great for a year now.

So, if both front rotors are getting hot - bleed the brakes first and test - old brake fluid absorbs water and expands when getting hot thus applying more brake pressure.thus hot rotors.

If this doesn't fix it and both rotors are getting hot (and you are going to keep it), might as well order loaded calipers and rotors from Rock Auto - an easy DIY job.

If only 1 rotor is getting hot - replace the rubber brake line and retest.

I'm assuming your 'BRAKE' light is not on the dash. That light senses the parking brake and the master cylinder. If that 'BRAKE' light is always on you may have a master cylinder problem - low fluid or uneven braking.

Good luck.
