how do you replace the headlamps?

 

There's an access panel in the wheel well that you must remove for access to the bulbs. A T20 torx screwdriver is needed to remove the retaining screw for the access panel.

 

2017 equinox doesnt have this panel. I wish it did .

 

There isn't much info out there for 2016+ models. As far as I can tell though, access is still gained through the wheel well. You now need to remove the inner fender liner because the access panel is no longer there.

 

You do have to go through the wheel well. There are a couple of clips and screws and you bend the panel open. Stick your arm up toward the lamp you are replacing. All the lamps have dust cups on them. Turn the dust cap and twist the bulb and out it comes. Same thing for high or low beam. I have a 2017 Equinox and replaced both high and low beams with LED lights. They work awesome.
