Red face Need someone who knows!

I have a 2006 equinox ls in july i got it's oil and filter changed 2 weeks ago i was driving and the oil filter fell out the car lost it's oil saw smoke in the back heard a bit of a clanking sound and didn't drive the car for no longer then 2 to 5 minutes before it shut down on me!
I tried replacing the oil filter and replacing the oil lost but it still doesn't start...more or less can anyone tell me what is happening !

does it turn over? if it doesnt i'd say the engine is locked up... does it still have any kind of warranty?

Okay okay so we were working with it changed the filter put some new oil into and tried to start it at first it kind of stalled realized it was the battery changed that and it started finally! but it makes a small clicking noise...have an idea what it can be

does the tick get faster as u rev the engine? its probably a valve ticking..

Okay so it goes tick tick tick....but when i rev the engine it goes tick tick tick louder and more like a small clank clank clank haha anyways if its the valve what kind of repair am i looking at and what is the cost...or is it something i can do myself

i would take it somewhere and have them look at it.. after all it was ran without oil..im sure something is messed up..

I agree, If the car was ran with out the filter for any amount of time, you more than likely fried the piston rings or maybe the crank bearings- or the valves to say the least. It may run now, but it is only a question of when it will give up on you.

Can anyone show me how to replace the outside door handle on my 2006 Chevy Equinox I have already removed the door panel. How do I install the new one?

If you got the oil changed I would call a lawyer and give them the name of the oil change place. Then sit back and watch justice run it course. You should of already at least call the place and asked why they the ruined your engine.

I would'nt try to fix anything yourself. Have it towed to place you had the oil changed and let them deal with what they have created.
