2020 Equinox and the volume on radio won't go up or down. Wont shut off when pressing power button. Wont turn off when ignition is turned off and door is opened. What is wrong?

 

There’s several possibilities depending on the radio system you have. If you have the amplifier, the volume is controlled by it, so you might want to try checking the fuses for it (see owner manual). If the amp is off due to a blown fuse, the radio may be staying on due to lost communication.

 

Do you still have the factory warranty? If you do take to the dealer and let them fix it.

 

Is it connected to your home WiFi so it can get current updates ?
My '20 Traverse did that until it was able to install the update, I delayed the update process as I was headed out on a trip and had the same radio not turning off.
Update info should be visible in menu's .

 

were you able to get this fixed?? I have a 2020 with 11,000 miles and mine did this tonight. My radio always shuts off as soon as I open the door coming down the road the screen went black when I pulled over and shut the car off the radio still didn’t turn off even when I got out of the vehicle with my keys.

 

Did you get this fixed? This is the second time this has happened to me and cant remember how I fixed it before.

 

Same thing just happened to me. 2020 with 7900 miles.

 

Problem solved - the issue caused my battery to run down over night, when we jumped the battery all of the electronics had reset and everything is working again.
