reset lamps?
Disconnecting the battery cable(s) is not necessary to reset codes on most newer vehicles, and in my opinion this should be avoided whenever possible. Instead, just pull a few specific fuses for about a minute to reset codes. On your 2007 Equinox, in the underhood fuse block, pull fuse #16 (ETC/ECM 15A) and #33 (ECM 15A) for about 1 minute.
This will reset any codes that would cause the "Service Stabilitrak" and/or "Service Traction Control" to display as well as any codes that would cause the check engine light to come on. Of course, if the cause of problem is not fixed, after being reset, the appropriate warning message will be displayed when the problem is detected again.
You can just pull only fuse #33 to erase any codes that are causing the check engine light to illuminate.
If you plan on getting it serviced anywhere, pulling fuses to reset codes is not a good idea since any diagnostic information that is/was stored is lost during this process. With the proper diagnostic tools, a technician is able to view a snapshot of information that is stored the moment any codes are triggered. This information can save a technician time trying to diagnose a problem if it's still viewable.
