Default running water

Hello all,

Is the sound of running water behind the dash normal ?
2007 Equinox, running good no problems.

It may indicate air in the cooling system so you hear it passing thru the heater core. Any coolant maintenace, or coolant leaks lately?

Yes, it's normal. It's just the sound of coolant flowing through the heater core. Our Equinox has done it since we bought it back in 2008.

Sounds like air in the heater, but perhaps that's just the way the heater core was built. My old Chevy K-1500 has never had any slosh in the heater.

Our 05 Suburban did this for a couple months before the water pump started showing a leak. Once the pump was changed the slosh went away. I would not consider it normal.
How long have you owned the car; has it always done this?
