Starting problem (continually turning over)

06 Equinox runs in off position

Replaced ignition switch and cylinder.
Tried connecting battery cable and it trys to crank. Jumped in and turned the key to on and it quit.
So what's next?

Yes the pcm assist the starter after turning the key for 0.4 sec starts the timer and will crank until vehicle starts or a no start timer is reached!! Normal operation for this vehicle and no repair needed. Hope this helps you..
