We bought this car for my wife because of its advertised 32 MPG. It was roomy and stylish and it's MPG and she needed a larger vehicle for her job. Now I know that there are variables and it depends on your driving habits. We always keep the ECO button on (we were told to do that by Chevy) so as to get the MPG. We bought our LS with 225 miles on it and as of 10/22/11 we now have a little over 5000 miles. Mostly all of it freeway. My wife drives sometimes over 3000 a month with her job. Our combined MPG is only 27.2 at this point. I contacted Chevy earlier in or milage history and was told that there is a break in period up to 8000 miles to get the milage of 32. I was told to contact Chevy at 5000 miles to let them know what I was getting. What are y'all getting on your?

With 400 miles on the vehicle, ECO on and using 91 octane without ethanol, got 34.5 mpg on 45 minute ride, mainly freeway. On 250 mile highway trip using 87 octane with ethanol got straight average of 30 mpg. Outside temps in the 20's. Have not tried E-85 yet. In our neck of the woods 87 octane costs $3.23 while 91 octane costs $3.53. That 30 cents difference means that when putting 15 gallons of 87 octane in I'm netting an additional 41 miles of travel over the 91 octane, assuming the same price point, so the 91 octane would have to boost long term average mileage by almost 3 miles a gallon to justify the upcharge. Still experimenting. Final note - vehicle is 2.4 liter four cylinder with front wheel drive. Fantastic car, couldn't be more pleased with it. And Chevy numbers are right on by my book.
