Unhappy 2007 Express 3500 6.0 - Which Tranny?

My transmission overheated and fried pulling an empty trailer up and over a mountain pass. I've pulled it out and am wanting to replace it with either a rebuilt or used / pulled from junk yard one. The problem is, the transmission guys tell me there are 3 different 4l80e's for my van /year.

1 - Does it make a difference if I put the 'wrong' kind in my van?
2 - How can I tell which it is?

Details: 2007 Express 3500 15 passenger van with the 6.0 engine. The only #'s I could find on the tranny are: P/N 24208421, GM-B7, 34958, then a tag that reads "MJP 076223"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Question

Will any 4l80e work from a late model gm truck/van? If so, what is the year range I should look at?
