2008 3500 express erratic shifting
Trans doesn't want to shift periodically. I can manually shift it into second. Other gears will free rev. AS /WHEN this is happening, the speedo is pretty much not moving. Most of the time, if I just drive in 2nd for a bit, the speedo goes back to normal and I can resume back to drive

Tow it to a tranny shop immediately. Every time you drive it like that you bring it closer to complete failure.

Not sure why you are starting a second thread about this. If this has been going on for over 100k miles it has damaged wear components in the trans which must be replaced.
It’s too bad you didn’t take care of the problem early on. It could be as simple as a partially plugged transmission filter. But, after 100k miles you are due for a transmission service anyway.
The speedometer feed is electric so you may just have a bad sensor or some of the transmission harness has been damaged. The TCU (transmission control unit) should also be checked.
It’s your call whether you go to a rebuild shop or just buy a rebuilt transmission. I have had the best results buying a while new unit.
