Default CB Radio hook up

I am looking for help on installation of CB in my 2010 express ls. Anyone have any best location for the radio itself? Better yet pics. Also where is the best place to professionally hook up to keyed and always on power? I also do not see a rubber plug to send the antenna wire through the fire wall. Any advise?

I mounted mine in the storage box above the rear view mirror. You can run a wire down the A pillar for power. I use a cigarette lighter plug for the auxiliary power outlet. When you want to remove the radio just give it a pull from the box and disconnect from antenna and your power line. They can stay in place when the radio is removed.

Depending on the radio you use it should fit in without a lot of alteration. I have a Uniden PC76XL, but the PC66XL fits the opening perfectly. Mine took some cutting on the headliner but it's perfect. Mine is the size of a Cobra 29.

As for the antenna, I use a magnetic mount in the center of the roof. It provides the perfect ground plane for your antenna. Mine easily got 9 miles of two-way on I-80 in Nebraska at night, more than adequate for what I was using it for.

I run the cable through the channel above the cargo door and conceal it under the headliner over to the radio. The weather strip around the cargo doors is pretty resilient and takes the coax cable inside without leaking in the rain. The antenna and magnet store inside the van when not in use or going through the car wash. (Be sure to check your SWR when reattaching the antenna to the radio)

When I get a chance I'll drop you a pic.
