Default rear main seal

i heard chevy has put cheap rear main seals in there v8s for the last few years.all rubber and no spring metal in them.has anyone had problems with rear main seals.not an easy fix.

While I don't know that that is a fact, lots of things have changed over the years. It might be that better material was used then previously, and no spring is needed. That's not mentioning the fact that even with the spring they still leaked with enough years or miles on them. Not always, but a small seep was no big deal IMO. It could be that whoever said this was a f**d fan and made it up out of thin air too. I am certainly not going to worry about it at all.

no idea what model years you are referring to. Its happens but I have seen many people think rear main seal leak but its actually the oil pan gasket
