Default Here's my tent!!

She's a 2008 Chevy Express 3500 that's been gutted and made into a glorified tent. We tow our ATVs with it and can get just about anywhere we need to go in the state of Alaska. This van was definitely commercial or government vehicle before we picked it up. It's as bare bones as they come, I'm surprised it had a CD player in it!! I spent a week cutting and placing vinyl from our Cricut to get a better aesthetic than your average white creeper van. Besides that I built a platform for a queen size bed with storage below it then added curtains and some screened vent fans to help get fresh air in while keeping the bugs out. Next will be a 4 battery solar panel system. Although we're not done with it, it has proven to be a great little camper so far!!

Default All of a sudden, I own a van?!?

My wife and I expected to get a van "in the next few years" but I work in a dealership and this beauty showed up as a trade-in. I handed the sales manager my debit card before the other deal was done. $1,800 later, with all the fluids done, new inspection, A/C drained and recharged (still blows cold), and new front shocks. The air ride in the back still works great. No rust besides minor around the doors and drip tray at the roof seam. My first efforts will be to tighten it up to prevent any decay. That means I need to become an expert in roof sealants and fix for sagging doors. The body is inexplicably clean for a van of this era that has lived in Pennsylvania its whole life, but I'm told that the gentleman that had it from birth through last year was a race car builder of some sort and I think he must have had this under roof. I am giddy like a school boy to own this 1990 GMC Vandura 2500 Explorer conversion.

Thanks for being here, I'm looking forward to getting the lay of the land.

This is the White Witch, my 1993 Chevy G20 shortvan 4.3L V6. She is a PNW unicorn if I ever saw one!

Cute lil’ shorty - dig those long vertical windows!

Hate to see her leave - love to watch her go!

Steering and dash - check out that teak!

Passenger side

View of the middle and back

View from the backseat

Honestly, I do not know! I do know I’m the fourth owner; the first two were a grandparent who financed her and then sold her to their grandchild... then the gentleman I purchased her from is a Chevy aficionado and it showed! He had a pace car in the garage right next to her. It took a lot of looking before I found her tho, there are lots of fading beauties out there!
