1976 Chevy Van 30 (Wayne Busette) Turn Signal switch
where previous owner cut and rerouted white wire from half moon connector
where the white wire got routed into the fuse box
I ordered (what I believe) the correct turn signal switch and started the install. I put each wire into the correct terminal on the new half-moon connecter. ran into a few problems.
-the new wires that came on the new harness seem to be getting so in the way when trying to put back together the steering wheel. theyre getting stuck and pinched in the back of the turn signal housing when trying to put the housing back onto shift lever housing.I have tried so many different ways to get those wires to work and not get pinched but not having any luck.
-when plugged in to the original harness that connects to the car, the horn and hazard lights work but not the turn signals when I push them up or down.
it seems that the previous owner cut and re-routed the white wire straight into the fuse box. I have attached a picture of what it looks like.
Could that white wire be the reason that only my actual turn signals arent working? is it in the correct part of the fuse box?
Can I just cut that out of the fuse box and solder and reconnect the white wires?
Obviously I'm all new to this but this is perplexing me.
Maybe I just have the wrong turn signal switch?
