Default 2000 Express 2500 lights giving fits

Okay I have a 2000 2500 Express van and its about to drive me nuts. First the DRLs flash when the head lights are off. Second the brake lights work when the head lights are off, but when I turn the head lights on only the third brake light works. Also when the head lights are on the third brake light is on dim like a tail light, but only single element bulbs. The back-up and turn singnal both work fine. Any help for these problems would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bill

Okay so I fixed the tail lights! Bad ground, new sockets and whala! As for the DRLs I think the headlight switch is faulty. Instead of buying a new one I just yanked the DRL fues. No more DRLs

Thanks for this thread. I had a brake light problem that seemed weird. When I stepped on the brake, the right tail light filament lit up but not the right brake filament. Left worked just fine. I checked through all the threads for Express vans and found this one. Following the information about a bad ground in this thread, I wired in a new ground wire to the bulb and connected it to the chassis -- Problem solved. Thanks.
