2005 express - Changing stock AM-FM radio for stock AM-Fm cassete - any lock codes ?
Hi , I wanted to change my stock AM-FM radio to the stock AM-FM cassette
The reason is I can put a cassette with a wire coming out of it for my MP3 player ,
First is there any unlock code on a 2005 ? I took out the radio last week to fix the fried wiring and when I replaced it there was not a problem and it even kept the saved stations ,
So will any of these stock (Delco ?) radios fit out of any GM product , I want to keep it simple and just plug in the old cable and antenna and be done with it ,
If there is a code I doubt if I would get the code for a swap meet radio !
Thanks for your help
UPDATE : these seem to be GM-Theft lock-Radios , not sure what year GM-Theftlock-Radios started or if the other GM cars that have these have a face plate the same size as a 2005 express van

The radio opening starting in 2001 is a double-DIN size radio. I would expect any GM double-DIN size radio will fit in there, particularly those from vans.
I agree with MountainmanJoe, however, you can buy a pretty decent head unit and install kit for around $75-$100 as opposed to tracking down a used, unknown radio that just bolts in the stock hole and maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but it's 15 years old either way. I've run radios with a USB port and the music off a thumb drive for close to 10 years now and I'd never go back to cassette or CD. You can put 1500 songs on an 8gb drive, set it to random and let it run. No need to change CDs, no need to plug in your MP3 player anywhere, nothing.
