Default 2006 Chevrolet Express all wheel drive 1500 cruise control

Well here's a Puzzler for you!!
Driving along cruise control on all of a sudden gas pedal pops up like it was a broken throttle cable on an older car.
Switches on the turn signal will engage the cruise control light in the dash will not accelerate if you hold the switch down will not disengage if you push the other button down only thing the switches will do is turn on the light.
The brake pedal will disengage the light.
Check the manual no fuses anywhere for the cruise control alone?

I'd ask if it ever comes back. If so, it may be some ECM, and they're never cheap. I'd look for a loose or corroded connector.

Checked all the connections all looks good found no shorts or corrosion! Still no Cruise. Light still comes on when switched on light goes off when brake pedal is tapped? Still nothing!

It may be the control module, or the cable. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

Try looking for a control module to swap with the old one to no avail discontinued part, start searching junk yards I guess? next step I guess is pull the engine cover off and try to get a good look at the cable?

I would think that's okay, since it does make the dash indicator go out.
