Default 2010 Express 3500 Remove Canister Evap Line Connector Dorman 800-081 connector?

For the life of me I can't get the center evap canister line connector off. It is the center one. The two outer ones came off.. The center is a different style. Appears to be what I find as a Dorman 800-081 (5/16 size which I later found incorrect) ***Found to be 3/8 which is Dorman 800-086 for the 90°*** It looks like it anyway. Is that what I am dealing with? I find video's about them. How to replace them, snap them on. Nothing on how to release them. I am in close quarters with no slack. I don't want to break something.

Is it as simple as squeezing the base (I marked in Red) and pulling it off? I tried squeezing with needle nose. It would not release. Is there a special tool? Or is there a special tool that goes into the little window to the white plastic above where I circled .. to depress there? Some other magic? Any wisdom is appreciated TIA

Thank You. To clarify. Would that tool be used on the base circles in red? Or in the windows above that area?

Oh.. thought you knew. To me it appears the white in the window is just below the ridge of the nipple the connector snaps over. Catching that ridge attempting to pull it off (locked on). I think depressing in the window will not allow it to clear? Depressing the base I circled, if the part in the window then hinges slightly outward, it would clear. But I don't know either. Guessing too. I couldn't get needle nose pliers to do it. But no real working room to tell. The tool might help?

Thank You that video at least confirms how I think the connector functions. Some type of thin split circular end on a plier type of tool. That would grip the white base plastic would match my thinking. I am just wondering if the tool you suggested, applied through the window above will accomplish the same thing with the white plastic .. to allow the black portion to slip away and off. Can't find the tool locally so far. I have it coming from Amazon.

Thanks so much for your help.

Success. Found the tool locally at an auto parts store. Not the 45° I wanted. Though not ideal for this connector, the Lesle 37160 ended up working. I was able to pinch the bottom white plastic (Section circled in Red in the photo). The black portion then slipped up and off. I then had to remove the left behind white section still on the nipple. Once the white piece was off the canister nipple I snapped the white part back in the black connector that was now disconnected. Reassembled, the connector then snapped back on to the new canister nipple and locked.

For those following and might need this info. My original connector number 800-081 reference is incorrect, though the style is correct. 800-081 is for a 5/16 nipple/connector. After removal I found the center nipple on the Evap Canister is 3/8. A 3/8 90° would be a Dorman 800-086 I only mention this in case you would destroy the white insert. You could buy a fitting and cannibalize that inner white piece if need be? This was on my 2010 Chevy Express 3500 with the 6.0L.

Many Thanks to MountainManJoe that got me on the path to the tool, and the solution!
