2010 Express Reverse wire location
Greetings,
Yes, it's another post to work out where the reverse is located under the dash~!
I have been searching the forums and boards, but have not found information for my particular model.
This query is for my 2010 chevy express van. I am hoping someone else with the same model has already solved this quandary with the best location.
This if for my aftermarket backup camera. I went with the brake light replacement combo. I have everything but the reverse trigger hooked up and it is working very well! I may add a second down in the license place frame specifically for backing up to a trailer.
I'm thinking the best place to tap off of will be from the bcm on the passenger side or maybe the under the driver's . But like I say I am hoping someone has already worked out the best solution, consequently I would like to know what others did. Detailed info, wire color/location, module, pin-out, pictures, etc..etc. would be awesome.
Thanks to anyone who can assist

I found mine in the radio plug, at the radio. But mine is a 2016, and it probably isn't there on a 2010. I'd suggest a toggle switch. It makes it easy to keep an eye on the trailer when not in reverse. Especially with the high camera angle. I don't know what you're towing, but stuff shifts around. I do my best to secure the load, whether it's a trash run to the dump, or a boat (sometimes not my boat). I always check before hitting the highway, and more than once I needed to tighten up.
I used the wire in the dash, but I had a toggle as well, for an override. I didn't need it as the aftermarket radio I put in had a override built in. Now I have a toggle in my dash hooked up to nothing.

Mountainmanjoe - Thank you the wiring diagrams were helpful that's a great resource.
StanVan - I love the high angle of the camera, it gives a great overview of what's going on back there. Yes, it seems like a load is always shifting or trying to escape!
A toggle switch is a great idea. But my aftermarket radio also has a built in override built in as well.
Maybe hook up your extra toggle switch to some phasers to blast all those bad drivers cutting in front and what not!
