Default 2016 Express Van Flasher Module

The flasher went out on my 2016 Express Van and purchased a new one. However, I cannot find the location of the bad module to replace. After searching all under the dash on drivers side, I activated the flasher and the clicking is coming from inside the driver side door panel near the speaker...... totally illogical! Any help locating would be appreciated.

There is no flasher. It is controlled by the BCU (body control unit). The BCU plays a noise like an old flasher through the driver's side speaker so that explains why you hear it there. Have you checked all the fuses? Why do you say your flasher is bad?

OK.... that makes sense. The front turn signal lights work but the back ones do not. The "clicking" coming out of the speaker is very fast, so just "assumed" that the module was bad. Now just this morning I discovered that neither one of the back brake lights work. Are the back brake lights on a separate fuse? Strange that both bulbs would go out at the same time??

The BCU senses current draw and if it is too low will speed up the flasher sound to let you know you have a burned out bulb. Both bulbs burning out at close to the same time isn't as uncommon as you might think.

The bummer is that if you swap in LED bulbs they often don't have enough current draw so the BCU thinks they are burned out all the time.

So, I need to check both the bulbs and the fuse. In looking at various fuse diagrams I am not seeing one for the rear lights. I saw a You Tube video that mentioned fuse BCM-4 and was fuse #9 in the engine compartment. Would this be correct? Neither one of the main brake lights work, however the small center one does still work.

Is it possible to put a newer BCM into an older van (2004) to get the 3-blink lane change signals?
