Fair points again, appreciate the input. I'm just bummed, I didn't expect to have to look over a 1 year old 8k mile van with a clean Carfax being sold by a large Mercedes Benz dealer that closely.

Always expect it. Even if it's brand new.

But in my experience, dealers have been very reasonable with me when I approached them with problems after the sale. They dutifully fixed serious issues with the vehicle on their dime. They replaced problematic batteries, replaced missing parts, repaired window hinges, etc. A good dealer knows that their reputation rests on the quality of the vehicles that they sell.

Search the internet for your VIN, you may find some before photos.

I would be pretty happy. There is nothing worse in these vans than Peeling White paint (search pictures online). Repainted parts will most likely hold paint better than factory.
Why sell. It does not mean a major accident. It is a U-haul van. It could have just been minor scratches. But yes look up the VIN.

What a strange thing to sell a vehicle over. Maybe it got some hail damage or that sort of thing and they fixed it and painted it. From the ground you can't even see the top. Who cares? it's not going to affect the vehicle in any way, it will still drive 200,000 miles or more the same as if it wasn't resprayed.
