Acceleration not working until engine warms up
Hi There, New member and 1st post..
I have a 2000 model chevy express van that's been giving me fits of trouble since May. I've seemed to narrow it down from many issues to one single issue left for resolve and it's getting the best of me to figure this out. When I crank the van in the morning, after sitting for 8+ hours, It starts and idles fine..but if I go to take off too soon it will not accelerate / only bogs down and if it backfires sometimes a airbag light will either flash once or stay on until I restart the vehicle.. No codes stored or pending. Yesterday I unplugged the clock spring to see if that would make any difference / read it may share a ground w/ cam sensor but that didn't make any change other than turning on the airbag light permanently. The dummy temperature gauge on the dash reads low but when reading live data it's correct. I'm guessing the throttle starts acting right when I get up around 160+ degrees and Temp sensor seems to be correctly working when reading thru my scanner.
I have replaced the following in the last 3 months:
fuel pump, fuel pump relay, ignition switch, ignition coil, ignition coil wiring, ECM, distributor cap, cam sensor, crank sensor, & mass air sensor...
What's next? TPS? I'm stumped and sorry if this thread exists already, I haven't had any luck finding one that matches this problem. Thank you for any help!

After no responses here and reading everywhere else online I replaced the ect today and will try on a cold start in the morning.. however I finally found someone with similar problem recorded elsewhere on the interwebs and seems that IAT solved his troubles and is issue with Vortec so I’m gonna pull that and clean or replace too and will provide update. My scanner is 10 years old and temperature numbers when recording live data differ from the numbers it gives viewing live data. Example: live data showed engine temp of 180 and when I recorded it said 350 F and that’s just not right. It’s 85 degrees F here and IAT recorded 212 F @ 3 minutes after idling as well
Took the doghouse off and when wiggling wire to cam sensor the engine stalled. Replaced pigtail and now wiggling has no effect. Will test drive on cold start tomorrow and hope that did it
I'm interested in your result. My step daughter drives a 96 express 1500 with the 5.0, conversion van style (Gladiator) & sometimes on her way to work, she gets to the end of the road & when she gets a clear spot to go, she says it won't accelerate, but of course eventually does. Dangerous to say the least. Thank you.
