Alternator Output

Okay, so is there a way to test the output of the standard 105 amp alternator using just a voltmeter? We have a 2014 4500 cut away van chassis. It appears this has a "smart" charging system that varies the voltage based on need. The battery is reading 12.6 after sitting for a day or so. With the engine running, I see 13.2 to 13.6 on the voltmeter. Engine speed does not seem to influence this voltage. The dash gauge is indicating a tad below 14.

If the truck starts every morning then there's no need for concern.

It's always going to put out the same voltage if it's working right, and it will be a tad over 12 as you're finding.
The difference would be in the amps coming out and you'd need to set the meter to measure that.
