Default Another Seat Swivel Install

'16 Exp2500. Started with a shop 4 seats swivel. First install it just cleared the side air bag (over the door). Got an '05 in the tree strip (blown motor) so I took that seat base and cut ''1 5/8 out of it so it would maintain factory height. The hard part was finding a suitable cable to extend the seat belt & seat air bag wires. Also the swivel release stuck out to far, cut ''3 off the end and bent it into a U. All good and I'm happy with it.

Also I might add, the Shop4Seats swivel is real heavy duty (a good thing). To spin the seat you have to open the door, and when facing back (with door closed) standard seat is right up against the door so if you have fluffier seats it may not work.

Default Got a problem

I'm installing a shop4seats swivel base on the passenger's side of my 05 cargo Express. Ran into a problem, there is a L shaped metal piece on the slider that is rubbing on the swivel base not allowing it to sit flat and causing a 1/4 gap. L shaped metal piece seems to be covering some sensor, did you run into the same problem? Not sure whether to cut of the metal or cut into the swivel base to make

The rivets that attach this L bracket seem to rub in the area where the key is placed. Thinking of grinding the rivets off or cutting into the swivel base.
it clear

Lunchbox, Hope you got it figured out, I didn't have that bracket/assessor/ problem, If it wont raise your seat to much, I might try using 2 to 4 washers at each corner (at stud) to raise the slide up,

This is exactly what I'm trying to do. How did you lower the base?

This topic is 3,5 years old, so I don't know if you will still get an answer from him.

But it looks like he just cut out a strip of metal from the seat bases and welded the remaining top- and bottom part back together. You can see the welding marks in the picture.
Looks pretty simple, but you need to do it right to keep the strength of the original bases. In case of an accident you don't want the two parts separate again.......
