Default Changing Drivers seat 2016

So we all know the standard seats in these Express vans are crap! I do a lot of driving and want to change the drivers seat to a more comfortable Recaro type seat. The original seat has an airbag in it. If I disconnect it will the other airbags still work? Thanks in advance, Frank

How does that work? An air bag that pushes you out of the seat? I think you're mistaken. Or you may have confused it with the side curtain air bags that come down from the headliner along the side.

I'm sorta with you on the comfort thing, though. But I just took about 1/2" of washers and jacked the front up. Made a world of difference.

The seat has weight sensors that turn off and on the airbags. depending on whether they are occupied and if the person is under 80 lbs or so......
If you turn on the key with that seat disconnected it will likely throw an airbag code.
At least that is how the passenger seat works. The dirvers is similar I believe.
You could get the seat re-foamed. Make it firmer or softer. My van has the power seat, and its fine. What I hate is the cheap plastic door rest my left elbow sits on......brutal.

I am curious.. what years do the seats have the sensors ?
I knew some other vehicles reconnized that the seat belt was
clicked ... ( which meant that a person was in the seat )
that told the system that the air bag can be activated if
needed.

Well there,s an Airbag tag on the side of the seat, maybe part of a side curtain.

HINKY, not Kinky. But I did check out my seats, and sure enough, I've got airbags in 'em.
