Default Any advice, Texas heat

My name is Dawn, I'm new here and to the wonderful life of vans. I have a '05 Chevy express van, which I purchased used recently it was a fleet vehicle, offshore employee transport.
So far, it's been great when I purchased it the AC did get cold so I searched and found a video explaining that the little connector under the passenger dash was disconnected. Now it is doing the same thing again and I heard a air releasing sound from the wire connection when I tried to zip tie it. Also I recently noticed a ticking noise from inside engine bay while driving,

but I can never get the noise when van is running with ac on. The ticking is only with ac on when shut off it stops immediately.
I'vealso checked fuses and switched relay, still the same issue. The air flow is great it just isn't cold, also I almost forget I noticed that the wires to the coolent temp sensor the weatherpak is broken off but it is still connected.

Any advice would be superly and greatly appreciated! camping/traveling in Texas for the weekend and it's like a oven I have those cig lighter fans going but it's not doing much.
Thanks for your time and help!

Is the temperature gauge working? I assume the compressor isn't turning on, and those could be related.

Welcome.

Need to clarify your issue first

Ticking: You say you hear it when using a/c. Is it ONLY a/c, or the other settings too? This could be your compressor clutch
Air isn't cold enough: Again , could be the compressor, or you just need to recharge the refrigerant. Might be best to visit an a/c shop

The colored spaghetti in your photo are in fact tubes, not wires. They are vacuum tubes which open and close vents depending on the mode you choose on the control panel. If it's leaking, then you'll be stuck on windshield defog mode.

The other possibility is that the clicking is coming from the temperature control. There an electric door that mixes warm/cold air and it could be stuck/broken/worn out. You have to take apart the kick panels in front of the passenger seat to get to that.

My vac lines are hanging down same as yours, LoL.

If the noise stops when the AC is on, and it's coming from the engine bay, it's the AC pump clutch dragging or the AC pump idler bearing.

I'd also agree with Mountain to suspect that the AC could use a charge- 99 out of 100 2005 vehicles could use a boost by now.

Texas heat. Yikes!

it was dangling down on my 2013 as well , and the dealer told me it's supposed to be like that. (way to go , GM)
I strapped it up behind the dash with a cable tie
