Default Brake Pedal Feel 1999 Express Conversion

1500 version. It has the 5.7. The brake pedal feels a bit stiffer than I thought for power brakes. I know these have drum rears. Anyone else have this issue? Its not extreme and dosent feel unsafe..just a bit stiff.

It could be one of 2 things. The brake booster, or the brake pads. Look up DOT Edge Codes and you will see that there can be a huge range in friction. Some "fleet" type heavy duty pads have very low friction causing more pedal effort. Brake booster should give you a couple of assisted presses once you shut down the engine.

Its only got 37,000 miles so I'm pretty sure the OEM pads and shoes are still on board. I will need to pay more attention to your brake booster suggestion.
