Default Burning fluid smell, only in reverse.

2002 2500 v6, 250000plus mile. Ex-Bellsouth/AT&T cargo. I have had the van for a year and 50,000 miles without problems (obviously very well maintained in it's earlier career). Twice in the last week after driving at least 20 miles I have backed into the driveway and had a strong fluid smell (like burning strong..popped the hood both times to check for flames). It was raining both times, and I couldn't smell it outside, just inside. No fluid puddles, and fluids are within normal levels.Doesn't do it on short trips (like backing out of a parking place at HD) and the last time it was following 300 mile trip. Holiday week, so spare time is low, just wondering if anyone has a clue before I head home with the dogs on Sunday. Thanks/G

Can you see smoke ? It would help if you could locate where the odor come from.
If possible slide under and inspect the transmission area to see if some oil leaked..also along the transmission cooler lines.
