I need to change the oil in my 1989 GMC Vandura 2500 with the 350 TBI. Can I just crawl under the front without lifting it on a jack or jackstands and access the drain plug and oil filter?

I know I can't access it from the sides because of the running boards.

I haven't done this in a while and I don't remember if there's enough clearance in front!

I’ve done that before, but will that empty the entire oil pan? On many vehicles, that leaves one side below the drain plug.

Lol I hear you. But I think on these 350 TBIs, the drain plug is on the driver’s side of the oil pan, so I might be ok driving the passenger side onto the curb.

Can anyone confirm this?

 

Bump Anyone know if I can drive one side of a 1989 onto a curb to access the drain plug and the oil pan will empty completely?
